We are a small independant business based in East London offering drone filming and location sound to film crews based locally and globally. We've worked on locations all over the world, from international film crews on prime time sporting events, to budget pilot local shows. We don't limit ourselves to large-scale series, and are always happy to discuss small one-off projects. Do you need world class audio and fancy a bit of drone footage but unsure about commitment? Sean Smith is a highly experienced sound recordist and drone op, with over 20 years working in film, television, and commercial production. Based in East London, he specialises in capturing clean, professional location sound and dynamic drone footage for a wide range of content—from documentaries and scripted drama to brand campaigns and live events.
Sean’s work has taken him from busy London streets to remote rural sets, always bringing technical expertise, reliability, and a calm on-set presence. As one of the co-founders of PhonicFilms Ltd, Sean leads all field operations and ensures each shoot meets the highest industry standards.
Helen Smith
Director / Operations & Finance
Helen Smith manages the essential administration and financial operations at PhonicFilms Ltd. With an international background in business support and a keen eye for detail, she oversees the day-to-day running of the company—from invoicing and accounts to internal systems and project tracking.
Based in London, Helen ensures the back office runs smoothly so production teams across the South East and beyond can stay focused on creative delivery. Her role is key to maintaining the efficiency and reliability that clients expect from every PhonicFilms project.
